About Rebecca

As the College Librarian for Science, Life Sciences, and Engineering at Virginia Tech, I work closely with the Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise, Engineering Education, Mathematics, and Computer Science departments.  By developing and providing comprehensive, discipline-specific support for these groups, I support the University's overall mission to "Invent the Future."

In addition to my direct work with these departments, I serve as the departmental Information Literacy Coordinator.  In this role, I am working toward developing a campus-wide information literacy strategy, coordinating professional development of instruction librarians, and integrating assessment into all instruction at University Libraries.

My research interests include the appropriate use of new and emerging technologies in higher education, instructional design, scholarly communications, and the history of libraries and information science. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments

Outside the library, I cheer for the Hokies, volunteer at the Lyric Theatre, eat some great food and enjoy traveling, yoga, good wine, and of course, reading! Check out my current reading list on Goodreads.
